State Seeking Delay in Eviction Date for Ulpana Neighborhood

The forum of seven senior cabinet ministers met to discuss the imminent eviction of many residents of Beit El’s Ulpana neighborhood on May 1, 2012  in line with a High Court of Justice directive. The ministers are planning to have the government address the court, seeking an extension to permit ample time to find a solution that will not involve ousting families from their homes.

The prime minister is aware that carrying out an expulsion will result in the collapse of his coalition as some ministers have already signaled this is a red line which may not be crossed.

Simultaneously, the forum of eight is working to find a solution to legalize a number of other communities which are on the list for removal, including Rechalim, Bruchin and Sansana.
