Spring Valley: Frum Firefighters Who Saved Life, Are Given Awards

fire award.jpgTwo Frum firefighters were given Al DeFlumere Awards during the recent “State of the County Address”, by Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef. As YWN had reported (HERE), Chaim Rosenberg and Abe Rabinowitz, both volunteer members of the Spring Valley FD, had heroically saved the life of 80-year-old Francis H. Lee in December 07.

The two brave firefighters entered the ground-floor apartment at the four-story Harvest House complex on Union Road, and crawled through Lee’s smoke-filled apartment until they found the disabled man lying unconscious next to his bed.

Rosenberg and Rabinowitz than dragged Lee into a hallway, where CPR was performed on Lee. He was then transported to a hospital.
