    #1069587

why isn’t my “n” post going through?

It went through 7 minutes ago.

    #1069589

what do you mean by incorrect.

is the riddle: which word is different?

or is the riddle: which word is different according to my calendar?

M80- you’re answer of the 3 vowels makes perfect sense.

I accept it as an answer even if ICOT won’t!

    #1069591

    thank you

and i accept your n one

as well as the one that only enemy starts with a vowel

    #1069592

    Moderator-80-

Hmmm, I guess I’d go with “which word is different according to my calendar?”

    OK, here’s another hint:

What can you do with three of the words that you can’t do with the other one?

clergy is singular (clergies is plural)& is a collective noun…other common collective nouns are class, crowd, flock, panel, committee, group, audience, staff, and family.

rain is also singular, as is enemy

    pains is not

M80- I also accept your beginning with a vowel theory, ,even if the author won’t 😉

    #1069594

    “OK, here’s another hint:

What can you do with three of the words that you can’t do with the other one? “

That’s more than a little hint.

I think enemy is the odd one. The others are also part of a longer word: painstaking, rainbow, clergyman.

    Is that it?

am yisrael chai nice try but the remaining letters of startling must be in the correct order. You almost got it.

    It goes like this:

    STARTLING

    STARTING

    STARING

    STRING

    STING

    SING

    SIN

    IN

    I

    Is that it?

    ‘fraid not.

    ==========================

    OK, more hints.

If these don’t help, I’ll b”n post the solution tomorrow.

The next group of words also meet the criterion of the three “in” words above:

    Also

    Rabies

    Serial

    Regalia

Big mule (yes, this appears to be two words)

Like a Schoolmaster in The Classroom, your wisdom will become clear to all when you discover the common property for the above words.

maybe you could post that ??? ??? that I was trying to draw on today’s sefira game (37)& did not succeed to make it look normal online

    Riddle

ok, so what’s about the year 1961 that’s so special that it will never happen again? and,no, it’s not that 1961 won’t occur again!

    #1069622

    am yisrael chai-

A couple of years ago several posters were interested in ascii art.

The first page of the following thread may have useful how-to info:

    http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/the-laboratory-ii-try-your-html-and-ascii-art-experiments-here

It wouldn’t be fair for me to answer your riddle – I collect coins and noticed the anomally several years ago.

(It will happen again, but it’ll be a while until it does.)

I’ve always been taught that ???? ??? ends at 6000 max…do you know differently?

    #1069624

ok, so what’s about the year 1961 that’s so special that it will never happen again? and,no, it’s not that 1961 won’t occur again!

It reads the same upside down. But that will happen again in 6009, won’t it?

I’ve always been taught that ???? ??? ends at 6000 max…do you know differently?

I learned that Moshiach will come by (our calendar) year 6000.

After he comes, I believe there are differences of opinion as to what the world will be like.

I didn’t factor that in my earlier reply.

When I was a kid, I would show a 1961 Lincoln penny upside down and say “look – they put the date upside down by mistake”.

Several people agreed, at least for a few seconds.

Ok, ok, – just as a starting point you can find literally dozens of factual errors, spelling mistakes, poor grammar and simple vocabulary mistakes throughout my posts.

Please see the last paragraph of the following post for a partial “mea culpa”:

many people had these names in Tanach, perhaps one of them?
