Because as frum Jews those newspapers asked they asked das torah and that’s what they were advised to do by contrast online news websites can’t afford to ask das torah what they should do because the answer would be to shut down
That is the only explanation plausible for YWN having published articles straight into the hands of tens of thousands of Chareidim that include videos that are asur mideoraysa to look at

Haimy! If u voted because “Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky strongly encourages us to vote & that Rav Gershon Edelstein has concurred” then u can dispute the charge because R gershon holds like almost all other gedolim that you can’t be matir it
This can be easily verified by calling his gabaim In Eretz Yisrael as I did. (Originally their was a video saying he said to vote but it was removed when it was discovered it was regarding the Israeli elections
It is very clear as laid out by Rav aron Feldman’s letter that (and many other gedolim have said) Rav Chaim was not presented with the true facts at all or he never would have been matir what was assured in the strongest terms by by all gedolim from the Chofetz Chaim till Rav Elyashiv zt”l

Mentch1 why not read what i wrote i specificaly said other gedolim argue regarding protesting here i just wrote that all inc rav shteinman have said in the past to protest over spiritual maters for example see rav Shteinman’s letter years ago signed by R Chaim Kenievsky as well that everyone should dedicate 3 days a year to protest with asrah kadishah and those protest were worse than these look it up

“The gedolim will say sure it’s a mitzvah to protest, but I am sorry, it’s a bigger mitzvah to daven to for yeshuosh”
    I’m also sorry for you
It’s one thing to thing you know better than the gedolim in worldly matters but how can you thing you know better than them regarding what’s a mitzvah? Do you also think you know more about heart surgery than a heart surgeon ?

That’s not just a question of emunah it just make any sense to think that
Btw it is true that all the gedolim have said in the past to protest including R Elyashiv R Shteinman and R Chaim Kenievsky however not all agree in the specific case of the draft issue
Also I’m sure you yourself would have a point were you feel an injustice is great enough to protest for example clear anti Semitic acts by a government or the like despite that protest inconveniencing others it’s simply a question of values for these people spiritual persecution is worse than physical (that also happens to be the Torah’s view as the Gemara states: it is worse to cause one to sin than to kill him

“The other male attendees are doing nothing wrong as long as the gidrei tznius are in place (requiring a mechitza is ridiculous but if everyone is OK with that that is their business)”
I repeat r moshe Feinstein rules that it is a chiyuv d’oraysah
    Not so ridiculous

Thanx to this coffe room I just discovered a new machlokes happoskim between almost all possum includind rav elyashiv and Rav “Dayeinu” (see his comment above) shlit”a
R Dayeinu holds (above): “It’s very well known Rav Elyashiv spent his time on Shas and Poskim and was generally not the kind of posek who researched the technical aspects the Shailos — that is something Poskim the like Rav Belsky do. Instead, Rav Elyashiv’s approach was to respond precisely to the question how it was asked. …IMHO this is a very, very technical shaila, and people should be relying on the likes of Rav Belsky”
On the other hand almost all poskim inclu r elyashiv seem to disagree…

Fakemaven: A gadol like Rav Karp who went through the sugyah is very different than anyone surfing the web.
Regular people who watch a video and therefore think they know better than the consenses of the gedolei hador Hashem yerachem !
If you can’t convince the gedolim go directly to the baleh batim and explain to them how the gedolim missed the boat?! Sounds great for klal yisroel!

I personally asked R Elyashiv if its better not to wear it and he said yes

There’s a basic question here: do we act as we would regarding all other shaylos following our rebbeim or the general consensus of the gedolim or do we look at a video and think we understand better than them I think that is a much bigger shayla than techeiles it is a shayla regarding all of yiddishkeit

I personally asked the Rosh Hayeshiva Rav Henoch Leibowitz Zt”l if its better for a yeshiva bachur to wear white shirts and he said yes because its nicer. Its just that he held emphasis should not be put upon this and therefor he didnt say this unless he was personally asked. therefor since many talmidim in chofetz chaim come from out of town no one told them to change to white shirts which led to the misconception regarding the chofetz chaim mesorah, which is really the mesorah of slobodka which is the real mesorah of almost all yeshivos nowdays, because they all come from slobodka as Rav Shach said many times. However this all applies in Chofetz Chaim were it isnt against the minhag of the bnei torah however the Rosh Yeshiva held that were all the bnei torah dress a certain way one should not stand out

there are only 2 gedolim who are still around who’s names appeared on almost all kol koreh’s from the litvisheh gedolim in the past 30 years those are rav chaim and rav shmuel aurbach all others have began only much more recently (ofcourse that doesn’t diminish their greatness in any way just basic history from before everything turned into machalokes and each side makes up whatever story they want)
