onegoal: Though I may not be a well known Rav My Rebbi who I heard this from was one of biggest talmidim of Rav Moshe and was also one of the biggest poskim in America. (If your going to ask me who I cant say as I have not asked his reshus to be mefarsem in his name)

Zahavasdad: You must not have been anywere neer the Jewish parts of Chicago as there is plenty of CY there and Skokie is a 10 minute drive from Chicago (there are no subways near either jewish Chicago or Skokie.

Feif + oy vey: You both totally missed my point (pls refer to previous comments of mine)

Feif: The fact that the OU gives these things a hechsher is not a raya to anything as once they feel there is a heter they can use it on everything under the category. The point is the psak would not have been made just for Ice cream. How do I know? Because the heter was for people to have milk not enjoy the use of there sweet tooth! Rav Moshe did not just wake up one day and say Hay I crave a good entamens dognut hey lets make chalav akum into chalav stam! ( as an aside Rav Shechter does not even drink milk at all though does not tell his followers to be mekabel his chumra)

Sam: inplaces that it is still unavailable then they still have a heter on which to rely. As of fifty years ago I am told there were but 2 companys in all of new york that sold Chalav Yisroel.

Feif: I humbly suggest that you buy your milk elsewhere as my milk stays just as long and is at most one dollar and fifty cents more than regular. As to Rav Belskey I have no comment as I was just bringing a point that its not all that pashut Rav Belskey is a tremendous Talmid Chacham and I dont argue, just most people are someach on Rav Moshe

Zahavasdad: It seams your road trips never made it out to Skokie Ill where we have CY in abundance. As to Ice cream Rav Moshe would not have issued a heter just so people could get there sugar fix rather to give people the option to have a viable source of milk which is quite a major staple. Sometimes yidishkeit demands sacrifice like only eating the less tasty Ice cream’s. (though Ben and Jerry’s is quite accesable in most major cities)

Its interesting that everyone thinks that Rav Moshe’s Heter of Chalav Stam still apllies nowadays as chalav yisroel is all over and not so expensive. Besides its based on the fact that companys would be fined by the government (Rav Moshe only mattired Chalav Stam in the USA) for tampering with milk, now when you have Billion dollar companys that produce milk who says their afraid of even a million dollar fine? Rav Moshe only made his Heter at a time when Chalav Yisroel was almost impposible to find ( As verified by my Rebbi who is one of the big talmidim from Rav Moshe)(now this is just for arguments sake that people should realize that this topic is not so pashut)

How can a jew prancing around while drest prituzdikly be a kiddush Hashem? a kiddush Hashem is only when one brings more knoledge of hashem into the world and only within the prism of torah. There is no more godliness in the world because of her athletisism or her looking more normal to the goyim. This is most definately a chillul hashem as she was representint that which the torah is against. One cant make a kiddush Hashem while being over issurim. (this has nothing to do with her culpability as she is most likely a tinok shnishba)
