tzaddiq, the source is a gemara in nida page 17a where the gemara list’s 3 ways of dealing with nails and grades the people who do them. and the first of them is one who burns it. which the gemura calls ‘chusid’.

You can find for 25-30k too. Of course depending in size etc. Especially from a soifer that’s a beginner.

mommia22, its written in a few places strongly not to cut both in one day, but the sharei tshuva quotes from someone, that one does not have to be makpid on it. So if its so torturous maybe you can rely on that.

And about ‘gathering’ all the nails, the gemarah in nida says that one that throws it around is called a rasha ch”v. And that if a pregnent women steps on it, its dangarous for the child R”L.

What should I tell you? I so understand you… I’m sitting and drinking a coffee with a piece of chocolatd and thinking to myself why in the world are you drinking coffee now (2:25am) ??!

But I think my prob. is that I love these hours of my day, and its part of enjoying it. But maybe you eat too early supper, and by that many hours after your meal your body is hungry again?

in reply to: Att: Anyone who Wears a Sheitel: #821989

    I love this thread!

My wife’s great grandmother asked that her children and grandchildren (god knows till when…) should wear only synthetic wigs. At some point my wife was thinking of droping it. Sometimes I think to myself that her shaitel looks horrible! But now that I see these numbers… Its beautiful already! Aint letting her change… 🙂

First of all I’m also in your boat about these two (with being confused about them), but as far I understand, the Rabbonim behind these org. have different halachalic opinions about some treatment used in this field. Also aTime is also giving support for people that face IF r”l which can’t be helped with treatment but with chizuk, by making Shabbatons etc. helps them to get to know other people in their situation… v’chulu…

Paying more for hidur mitzva (better quality) sure is, but just over paying cuz its a mitzva why should it be?

I never heard about such a minhag, its probably just to entertain the lil ones… (what makes me think its not a minhag is, since alot of people go on Rosh Hashana when feeding the fish is assur) Correct me if I’m wrong…

    in reply to: Fasting!!!!! #883101

Talking about girls or women? Many chasidish girls do fast. But a women? Why should they fast?? You know what they say, they’re either pregnant, nursing, or just not feeling well… 🙂

in reply to: Havdalah – Putting Wine on Your Eyes and in Your Pocket #808289

Talking about Segulos… there’s an interesting Segulah I once heard to put Havdalah wine on warts…

in reply to: Havdalah – Putting Wine on Your Eyes and in Your Pocket #808283

I saw people using index finger as well, so I guess there’s alota Minhagin how to go about it.

Also saw people putting wine on the back of the neck. (which I think comes from a Gemara that there’s a bone in the neck that takes nutrition only from the Havdala wine)

in reply to: Women Driving #805868

The prob. is that the men hav2 drive for Parnasa… Otherwise I would highly think that only women should be driving!

First of all, like gavra1_at_work wrote about shopping in malls.

And 2’nd, since we dont run the street, and every non jewish girl or women is driving todays days and even if not we hav2 focus on the roads where there’s alot of them. I think for Shmiras Einayim the men shouldn’t be driving.

I have afew friends that didn’t take license only for Shmiras Einayim reasons…
