@bigben2- I definitely don’t support the ideology. But what upsets me more is when people are forced to take on (if they drive, their kids are kicked out of yeshiva)- very strict laws, and told that that’s what being Jewish is about, it’s all in order to be a good Jew, it’s halacha. Not necessarily…

Yes, little kids’ songs are silly- because they’re intended for that audience! Children that little won’t appreciate some witty or inspiring lyrics- they like goofy, silly things, with rhythm and rhymes so it’s easy to remember and sing along. I grew up singing “Do your ears hang low” as an ‘exercise/warmup’ song in daycamp- I remember we all loved to do all the motions along with it. Yes, there are some horrid ones, I don’t remember singing (or being sung) any of them all that often. But in my experience, and from spending time with many little children in my time as a counselor, nursery teacher, aunt, big sister, babysitter, etc. etc. etc., the sillier the song and lyrics, the more little kids like and appreciate it.

Mayan_Dvash I believe they were not joking about tznius but rather about the fact that people like to hock and complain about it but don’t bother to go so far as to actually do anything about it.

@LAB- nice job on the Oorah tickets vid! I was enjoying the Oorah rep’s reaction almost as much as I was enjoying your rhymes. Though what you’re gonna do with 3 shaitels, I don’t know… keep them on your new table just for show, I guess…

@shopping613 I have a bunch of songs from bya, bya seminary, hadar seminary… there should totally be a website for all these random songs unofficially recorded by girls/schools/camps etc…

Shopping613, i have it on my ipod- it is definitely on the Marvelous Middos Greatest Songs cd. It’s sung by kids, but still a good version.

@shopping613 it is a pity that there is no such site, there are so many songs I wish I had!

@shopping613 Yes, I called the number a couple days ago, she told me the same thing. Thanks for the reply!

Question- I’m not too sure about how this works- how do you know when someone has replied to you? Only if you happen to check the thread, or if you have favorited it?

I know someone who has her own recording “studio” kind of, who loves to sing- I’m going to ask her if she knows the song and wants to record it. I’ll keep you posted!

Nu? So where’s the next video already, I can’t believe I still haven’t seen anything new, I am reduced to watching the previous 3 all over again 🙂

@shopping613 did you ever find out anything about those songs? I know the High up on a mountain one was by Mrs. Stefansky, I haven’t sung it in years but that’s the amazing thing about music, it all just pours right back- if anyone has recorded it i would LOVE to get ahold of that, and also any of Julia Blum’s cd’s- does calling that number work?

@levaryehboy -I was very surprised to see the last post was 3 weeks ago! What happened, people just forgot about this thread? Yeah, I agree that the only reason people wouldn’t like your sequel as much is because they are expecting to be as amazed, amused, and bowled over as they were by the first! But I can’t tell you how many times my brothers replayed your video… it’s a pity only the first view counts because you’d have made a mint off of them alone!
