Takahmamash: Why? I’m trying to figure out if you didn’t say because it is lashon hara or just because you answered the question and I didn’t ask why.

I was thinking that maybe something spilled on the seat or it was too close to something or it was a discomfort because of the A/C or heat. Dunno.

The bubble umbrellas are simply made of transparent plastic and shaped more like half an eggshell or bell, instead of a wider curve of a regular umbrella.

It kind of looks like your top half is in a bubble.

I once got one but returned it soon after. My bag got soaked and I couldn’t move much in it.

That said, people do look cute in them and they often have those hooked handles. All of the ones that I have seen fold long though, not in on themselves. So it’s a lot to carry.

    Yepp yepp ?

[ LU please don’t be angry with me. I am unsure if I should say anything but it’s been a few days and I was hoping that we would have a new sentence by now so maybe I should say something so you don’t feel abandoned or something.

I want to play but I have to sit this one out. The reason why I’m not joining in on this new sentence because I don’t feel comfortable making a sentence using the first two words, especially the second word. It’s your rules though so I also don’t feel comfortable swapping that word out with another either.

Thank you for listening ? ]

Is everyone really saying that? Do you mean IRL or this thread?

I don’t know why either. To me there are still blogs out there.

Maybe there are more professional bloggers now too.

Maybe they can implement the number system where people just take the next number out of the roll, wait no because the loud speaker may wake you.

On second thought, maybe they can give everyone waiting for a haircut one of those vibrating discs to inform you of when it’s your turn. Then they have a dorm next door with beds where you can nap until it’s your turn.

Or you can get your haircut while sleeping. Somehow.

Rewind. Good point. I went a bit extreme there.

The question came about after seeing a photo of men praying at I think a Rebbe of blessed memory’s gravesite and they all had black umbrellas.

Maybe women have a more creative freedom of dressing. Despite the stigma that says otherwise.

    Thank you

So it’s totally fine for your rabbi’s wife to be running errands with her children in her new bright red Corvette Z06?

Yes thank you, wondering though… how would people know though?

May the rabbi officially close the shul? If the lights are on, and there is no sign, maybe some early-birds wouldn’t know.

Or is this a pikuach nefesh situation where phone calls may be made and someone can post a sign up announcing that the shul is closed and everyone should stay home to ensure B”H one’s safety.

Or maybe the city or county installed emergency alarms that go off in such situations? Like they have sirens in Israel?

Is that because at the moment of confession someone who is Catholic believes that he or she is not speaking to a human who just so happens to work at a church, rather to G-d through his messenger/medium/portal who happens to be a human?

So a priest cannot say anything because no one actually told “him” and “he” technically wasn’t even there as himself. He was speaking for G-d according to the Catholicism Christianity and G-d cannot be an informant?

Lol. I forgot that people use umbrellas to shield the sun too.

It’s a lot of work to carry though. Those umbrella hats look cool but it looks like they only cover one’s head. Plus it might smack someone in a crowd, whereas at least you can maneuver umbrellas out of the way.

If it’s raining and most people and women use black umbrellas, and she is not using one then maybe someone will help her out or expect her to get a black or normal-looking umbrella so even if she is wet it won’t be as noticeable as those clear bubble ones.

If it’s raining and she uses a clear bubble umbrella that does stand out in the crowd, you’re saying that this is about the same as if she was getting wet?

Well I guess getting soaked by rain may also affect her hair covering. Whether it is a sheitel or tichel or snood or something else, it seems like it would be uncomfortable and heavy if it got soaked while on one’s head. Especially if that person then had to rain through the rain.

    Hmm…. thank you 🙂

I couldn’t think of anymore. You’re right. So it really meant to say that she wasn’t his wife or daughter, or related to him (I don’t know how it goes with grandparents and other relatives, and if there is flexibility depending on the ages or etc on whether a woman can otherwise be alone with a grandfather-like family member.)

    Thank you 🙂

That’s passive. It does not speak of intent to do something.

Even celebrities publicly stated thought crimes against the president. The president even stated thought crimes against certain individuals.

Once some students spoke like that against a teacher of ours. She died that semester and I heard those students crying and blaming themselves for their thoughts and words.

Some people have chins that look like Homburg hats.

Sometimes their chins make them appear very elegant and chiseled. It’s genetic.

Joseph must be genetic. In part at least.

If you become a Joseph, do you think it has more to do with nature or nurture?

The Western world as we refer to it and its influences is no longer considered modern society. Technically speaking. It’s called postmodern.

Honestly I am confused too and trying to figure it out.

From what I have gathered thus far, the paradigm shift towards an individualistic society where everyone does his or her own thing comes from the Postmodern era beginning in the 1950s.

    From Revise Sociology:

“Post modernists argue that we live in a ‘Pick and mix’ society. Individuals today are free to pick their lifestyle and life course, from a wider range of options than ever before, just as if they were picking and choosing products in a super market!” (Revise Sociology)

Sounds like postmodernism is what we associate with the threat to Yiddishkeit.
