Brain death is an invention of the docotors as a way of permitting transplants. At the time the first transpants were performed Rav Moshe wrote that taking a heart is murder

any letter implying a retraction has never been understood that way by his sons.or by the leading poskim

    Mr.Sam2

Since no doctor accepts the halachic defintion of death, we are in no position to permit organs donations which are done by doctors without any regard for halacha.

The overwhelming majority of leading poskim reject brain death. Even if you accept brain death at some point, there’s a whole separate issue of allowing the doctors to determine when brain death is.

Since a majority of poskim prohibit organ donation, (among them Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach and Rav Eliezer Waldenberg who were very close to many medical experts) it is prohibited to donate organs.

PS I’ll take the gehenim for all those who follow the leading poskim and are asked after 120 why they listened to them and not sam2!

‘Interestingly enough, there are Rishonim who hold that Eid Echad Ne’eman B’issurim does not apply to women. No one anywhere (I think) holds that way though”.

I’m not familiar with any such opinion. If that was the case nobody would be able to eat at home. A ??? is clearly believed that she is ?????.

The Gemorah does not mention this as a source. The mishna (?????? ?.)says ????? ????? ????? ?????? ??? ?????. the Gemorah asks ????? ???? (how do we know this) Rashi explains ????? ?????? ????? (that ladies are not allowed to testify) and the Gemeorah answers that the ???? says ????? ??? ?????? (the two men stand)this teaches us that men testify, not women.

In certain cases where the judge finds the woman more credible he can accept her testimony regarding certain matters, see ?????? ??

??? ??? ?? ??? ??? ?? ???? ?? ?? ???? ??? ?? ????? ?? ?? ??? ?? ??????(the Amora Rava accepted the testimony of the daughter of Rav Chisda, which he knew to be credible, despite not accepting similar testimony from the well know scholar Rav Papa )

Also in a case of ??? ????? where it is clear to bais din that there are witnesses lying, it is forbidden to rule base on male witnesses. So if women contradict male witnesses this would very often fall into such a category.

Women are technically ???? ????? however it doesn’t mean they have no credibility in Bais Din.

When it comes to Agunos women are also believed.

And of course for all matters pertaining to regular prohibitions (?? ??? ????????)they are believed.

“If every Ehrliche guy really did some introspection before every comment he made to his female co-workers (who I doubt are 80 years old coming in with walkers) the reason for his comments

is it REALLY necessary for business? Maybe his personal business”

100% correct and (almost) every man knows it.

Sam2, There is something called a yetzer hara. We all have have one. Why do you talk as if it doesn’t exist?

The questioner wanted to know if there is any prohibition against having a platonic relationship with a woman. He only wants to know the strict halacha and no chumros.(The question was not quoted in the above post, see entire original responsa.)

Rav Moshe says there is are several severe biblical prohibitions with such a relationship even if there is no physical contact.

A business relationship has to be just that. Nothing personal.

You can be polite, cordial but not friendly.

Any man saying that a lady will be not be flirted with at work unless she is dressed immodestly is not being honest. A man’s yetzer hara doesn’t need a prutza in order to be tempted. The aveira of pritzus is for increasing the temptation, not for creating it.

You have to reat it like you would someone you went ou with many times and decided not to marry each other. In such case people break away cold turkey and totally avoid each other. You can tell him that your relationhip is a problem, and its not healthy to continue it.

In the unlikely event that there is a posibility to marry each other, you can tell him that it can only continue in a manner would lead to marrige.

As a rule such questions need to go to a rav or rebbetzin you trust and not go online.

When men talk about platonic relationships they almost always don’t mean what they are saying. When women talk about them, they are being naive.

    Regardless ??? ?????? ????? ???

There is no heter in halacha for such relationships with women.

When it comes to a first cousin, (especially if the families are close) I don’t think you have to treat him or her as a total stranger. However there can be attraction (cousins marry sometimes) and you should use common sense and not become “friends”.
