  1. My big Rebbe whom I learned from for 4 years, whom I wish I kept closer contact with.

He was a master in taking all the chiddushim and puting them back into the simple words of the Gemara Rash”i and Tosfos.. in a very very sweet way. Aמ Ohev Shalom who didn’t even need to be “Maavir al Midosav”, since he was sweet and forgiving through and through…

    אוי! מי יתן תמורתו

  2. So sad.

We were all just dancing around him a week ago on Simchas Torah.

We were all singing כי אורך ימים, ושנות חיים ושלום, יוסיפו לך. Who can get that picture out of their minds!! Reb Don with his eyes closed holding the small Sefer Torah. Watching his hergeshim shine through when they were singing אשרי מי שעמלו בתורה. The seen keeps playing over and over in my mind!!

I remember rushing my children over to Reb Don during hakafos. I told them to get a good look at him. This briah is almost extinct! A true Gadol. A true Odom!!

He gave me and my family such warm heartfelt brachos. Who would have imagined that just a week later….
