Monticello police are currently investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred on Monday at 6:25 pm in the parking lot of the Advanced Auto Parts store on pleasant street in the village of Monticello. A 23 year-old Brooklyn man reported that he was approached by another male who displayed a firearm and robbed him of his bankcard. The suspect was described as being a black male, 16-20 years of age, wearing dark colored pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect then fled by running in a westerly direction on high street.
