NYC DESCENDS INTO TOTAL MAYHEM: OFFICER RUN OVER; SHOTS FIRED AT COPS

– Looters have vandalized and destroyed HUNDREDS of businesses overnight.
– NYPD Manhattan Chief announced that officers are NOT to engage in vehicle pursuits that have committed looting (burglary). “Too dangerous and we don’t want officers injured”. This follows at least 3 pursuits tonight that he terminated as well.
– An NYPD Officer was mowed down by a vehicle in the Bronx. (Condition still unknown.)
– Shots fired at NYPD Officers in WIlliamsburg. No injuries and vehicle as well as firearm recovered in Manhattan. 4 suspects were arrested.
– Deblasio tweets at 1:00AM and says he visited the Bronx and says the “Bronx has real problems”.

An unprecedented curfew in New York City did little to prevent destruction as groups of people smashed their way into shops including Macy’s flagship Manhattan store, grabbed merchandise and fled.

Police said more than 200 people were arrested and several officers were injured during the chaos Monday night and early Tuesday that followed another day of peaceful protests throughout the city over the death of George Floyd. One officer was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

“Some people are out tonight not to protest but to destroy property and hurt others — and those people are being arrested,” Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted late Monday. “Their actions are unacceptable and we won’t allow them in our city.”

  1. How de Blasio became mayor is beyond me. Maybe he appeals to the low life blacks and nutty liberals, but brains he doesn’t seem to possess in abundance.

  2. What matters is whether the riot is targeting Jewish institutions or stores (which would makes Cuomo and De Blasio’s failure to suppress the riot into a very serious matter for us), or whether this is just the Democrats shooting themselves in the foot, again. Given that New York City is probably doomed due to the evidence that its cramped conditions were the leading causes of Covid19 deaths (in the country, and perhaps the world – only in New York City was it so deadly), and the growth of telework seriously undermines the logic in having a business based in New York City when you can run it more cheaply elsewhere, the riots are killing a walking corpse so it isn’t a big deal (it is a big deal for the governor and the mayor, who should recall the electoral futures encountered by David Dinkins and Mario Cuomo after they tolerating rioting for fear of alienating their “base”).

  3. – Shots fired at NYPD Officers in Williamsburg. But police were way more preoccupied in dispersing peaceful playing children from playgrounds in that very neighborhood, so let the police eat crow.
NOT to engage in vehicle pursuits that have committed looting (burglary). “Too dangerous and we don’t want officers injured”. But so much less dangerous than sticking your knee into someone’s neck for 8 minutes 46 seconds.

  4. It’s humorous how the ‘protesters’ causing the violence and theft are all from out of state – with each state saying the same thing!
