According to the Asbury Park Press, Lakewood cops stopped more than 800 vehicles on Route 9 early this morning – in search of information about a hit-and-run driver from a Nov. 29.

The officers slowed down cars from 5:30AM – 6:30AM near the Shop-Rite Supermarket on Rout 9, and distributed information flyer’s to motorists.

The Lakewood PD is hoping to learn more about the accident which happened in the same area less than a week ago. All police know is that a red minivan hit 54-year-old Viscius Alfredas, 54, at about 6:30AM – and left him in critical condition.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.
