SHOCKING: Former CIA Director Compares US Immigration Policy to Nazi Germany

Former CIA Director Michael Hayden on Saturday bashed the Trump administration for separating illegal immigrant children from their parents at the U.S. border by tweeting a picture of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp from World War II with the words: “Other governments have separated mothers and children.”

Hayden, 73, who also served as NSA director, has worked in key intelligence posts under former Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. He also is a retired four-star Air Force general. He is currently a national security analyst for CNN.

1.3 million are estimated to have been transported to Birkenau between 1942 and 1944. At least 1.1 million died in the camp’s gas chambers, the vast majority of whom were Jews.

The White House has come under fire for Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ “zero tolerance” policy that refers all cases of illegal entry for criminal prosecution.

U.S. protocol prohibits detaining children with their parents because the children are not charged with a crime, though the parents are.

The Associated Press reported Friday that nearly 2,000 immigrant children have been separated from their families over the past six weeks during a crackdown on illegal entries, according to Homeland Security.

President Donald Trump on Saturday blamed the situation on Democrats, tweeting Saturday that party members “can fix their forced family breakup at the border by working with Republicans on new legislation, for a change!”

It’s biased and unfair to compare separating children from their families now to the Nazis actions in WWII. At this time, the children are reunited with their families after a short time. The Nazis seperated children from their familes to enslave and exterminate parents and children. The Nazis directly or indirectly caused the deaths 90 million people all over the world.

  2. Shame on him for connecting the events. These families were told in advance that they’re not welcome in the U.S. of A. They shouldn’t have come. These parents put their own children in harm’s way! Is that what happened in Nazi Germany? Shame on this disgraceful officer for intimating a connection. To me it seems like he’s either stupid or a rabid anti semite: I’m leaning toward the latter!

  3. Hiring a lawyer, filling out paperwork, and having an actual passport like every other nation on earth is so “gasp”-worthy.

Or does he mean how Obama encouraged thousands of unaccompanied “minors” to run across the border without their parents?

  4. A search on the web shows a weeklystandard that reports Hayden “slammed the Obama administration for ignoring a range of Iran’s destructive activities in order to preserve the nuclear deal, and advised the incoming Trump administration to harshly retaliate against Tehran’s illicit pursuits”. (Decemebr 2016). Yet he proceeds to trash Trump (2018) for dropping the Iran deal because allegedly there was no “material” violation. Sounds like he takes both sides.
