(UPDATE BELOW) 1:05PM EST: A Hatzolah member who was responding to an emergency call, passed by a serious accident which had just occurred at17th Avenue and 56th Street. Numerous ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, as well as paramedics – for an elderly person who is in traumatic arrest, with CPR in progress. As of this time, Boro Park Hatzolah is transporting the critical patient to Maimonides Hospital. Additional patients are still being treated at this time by Hatzolah.
Misaskim has been placed on standby, and are responding to the scene as well.
1:31PM EST: The elderly patient has been pronounced dead at the hospital.
2:25PM EST: The NYPD has determined that the man died of a heart attack, which caused him to crash his vehicle.
