The Dallas Area Torah Association (DATA) has been serving the greater Dallas community for over 25 years, with branches in Dallas and Plano, and programs for young professionals and married couples to explore their Jewish heritage.
Using the Chesed Fund, DATA harnessed the power of their donor base to match donations x4, quadrupling each individual donation. As a result, they were to inspire 300 people to participate in their fundraising campaign and raise a whopping $327,000, most of it in the first 30 hours of the campaign.
The organization plans to use the funds to continue the great work they have been doing for the community: in 2018 they ran Rosh Hashanah services for over 750 people, held over 30 weekly classes and events that reached over 1,000 people, and hosted over 7,500 people for Shabbat meals.
The successful DATA matching campaign on the Chesed Fund shows what can be accomplished with a vision, determination, and motivated supporters.
