Sharpton Continues Plan To Shut Down NYC

al sharp.jpgAccording to NY1, Al Sharpton vowed Tuesday to lead a citywide response, after a judge last week, acquitted three NYPD detectives of all charges in the shooting death of 23-year-old Sean Bell.

“There will be several actions within the next ten days,” said Sharpton in a press conference.

While Sharpton gave no specific details as to what the “actions” would be, some attendants of Sharpton’s last meeting told NY1 of the ambitious ideas.

“We’re gonna close down the George Washington Bridge at 5 o’clock in the evening or maybe 7 o’clock in the morning, when people are trying to get into this city,” said Henry Singleton of the Local 1199 Service Employees International Union.”

Among those attending the meetings yesterday were United Federation of Teachers’ President Randi Weingarten and several city council members.

“I don’t have a problem with doing whatever the majority of the community wants to do to show my disgust with what has happened,” said Democratic Queens City Councilman Leroy Comrie.

Those attending the meeting called it “a quest for justice”.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said those intending to break the law will be punished.

  1. I don’t think a Jewish website should be posting a caricature that emphasizes a racial stereotype. (That being said, Sharpton is a rabble rouser, racist, and a jerk in general – but the caricature is inappropriate – I think).

  2. Democratic Queens City Councilman Leroy Comrie says “I don’t have a problem with doing whatever the majority of the community wants to do to show my disgust with what has happened”
Which majority exactly is this guy talking about. I do not believe that any majority wants to see the GWB shut down in “a quest for justice”.

And isn’t a court case in NY State Supreme Court considered already a quest for justice. There was a legitimate court case and obviously the Prosecution could NOT prove the police officers guilt, so what exactly is the issue now.

  3. Breaking the law to make a point only gives you no respect for your cause. Making innocent people suffer is not going to win you sympathy for your cause. While many of us may agree that justice was not done,we also know that the perpertrators were not goody-goodys either.Getting the public angry will only direct the anger and hatred against Sharpton and his evil supporters and followers.

  4. I agree with pittsburgh you really should remove the caricature. That being said, Sharpton is a rabble rouser, racist, and a jerk in general – but the caricature is inappropriate – I think).

  5. to #1 and #4, i personally disagree with you on this one. Yes, many times caricatures accentuate stereotypical features, but usually when it’s a caricature of someone specific, it accentuates that actual person’s features. Sorry, but Sharpton has a big nose and big lips (oh, and brown skin). What are you gonna do about it?

On another note, I found it kind of amusing (besides for the fact that it may be a major inconvenience) and unbelievably selfish that sean bell’s father and all these other morons vowed to shut down the city. What on earth did the 8 million residents of NYC have to do with your son getting killed? And how is this going to bring you justice? Since when does the legal system waive the double jeopardy rule because NYC residents are being inconvenienced by people of the same color as the “murder” victim. And I still don’t get what Sharpton has to do with this. It certainly isn’t a racial thing. a) 2 of the 3 cops were black! b) where is Sharpton when rappers kill each other? where is he when there are murders in east New York and other black neighborhoods? don’t the families of those victims deserve justice?

Just a quick anecdote that I remember from a while back when yidden held a peaceful demonstration outside the 66th precinct to protest the shooting of Gideon Busch, Sharpton tried to come and support. The Jews wouldn’t let him get out of his car. They just chanted “Ant-Semite go home!!” I just chapped so much hano’oh from that one cause we didn’t allow him to be the hate-mongering animal that he is! I just wish someone would finally put that guy in a padded room where he belongs.

  6. Doesn’t anybody remember Sharpton’s role in the deaths at Freddy’s the store on 125th street when he called for burning out the ‘white interlopers’? Those were yidden who died.

  7. The picture of sharpton reminds me of charicatures of Jews in pre WWII europe. The ones with the huge noses. There really is no room for that picture on this website. Never have I seen a charicature on this website until now.

  8. Just out of curiosity, what other group would do something like this? Would an Oriental councilman do something like this? Would an Hispanic leader do something like this? Would any other minority leader even threaten to do something like this? No.

So why does this rabble-rousing anti-Jewish and racist Black leader have the sheer gall to threaten to shut down a city because he thinks he knows better than the judge that the cops of the same race who killed this man should have been convicted?

It is quite instructive that other people of Mr. Sharpton’s race are of a like mind. It’s outrageous.

What chutzpah do these people have in costing innocent and unrelated people millions of dollars in lost wages and other costs and inconveniences?

Noach’s words after shem vayefes noble deed are instructive even today.

  9. surely this website can find a real picture of Reverend Al without having to resort to placing an inappropriate caricature next to your story.

  10. What I dont understand is, why this is news? Anytime that cholera doesnt get the “justice” that he thinks is right and suits him, (meaning: The blacks are always in the right, and the whites are always in the wrong-case closed)he will terrorize the city. Thats his trademark, and always has been. I guess that councilman is also from the same breed. I wish that guy in bensonhurst 15 years ago had better aim.
By the way, I Love the pic, it depicts the fool that he is.

  11. Two of the officers were black and so were their lawyers. Clergyman Sharpton and Obama’s clergyman both have a “persecuted black” mentality that they use to stir up black hatred. They need to get rid of their attitudes and work on getting blacks to follow the ten commandments that they should be preaching. Bell was at a strip club and living with his fiance before his wedding and his friends were all felons. Maybe the shooting wasn’t warranted because there was no gun but one of the officers was struck by Bell’s car and then the car rammed into a police car-not exactly peaceful.

  12. #1 & #4-
Can you explain to the oilam why the picture is worse than calling him “a rabble rouser, racist, and a jerk in general?”
It would seem to me that name calling in public is alot worse.
We are all waiting for your response.

  13. Think about it like this.
He is protesting because of the courts decision. He wants equal rights and treatment for all people including those whom he feels are being descriminated against. However by segregating himself from everyone elses and claiming this is a racisit act it only worsens the issue.
At times people want to be treated equally yet act different then everyone else.
This sia perfect example of this.
At times the jewish community (while we are differnet for observance reasons) we may cause problems by forcing people to give such as presuring goverment officals, which only shed s abad light on the community.
