Rabbinical Congress for Peace Sends Memo to President Bush

note.jpgUpon his arrival in Israel today to participate in Israel’s 60th anniversary celebrations, President George Bush was sent a memo from the Rabbinical Congress for Peace which read:
Mr. President: You are known to be a true believer in the Holy Bible which states explicitly that the entire Land of Israel was promised to the Jewish People, the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. As the true believer that you are, it is incumbent on you to ensure that this is implemented on the ground.

This is true especially when in reality in the last few decades we have seen clearly that anytime there is even talk of giving up any land to foreigners it leads to bloodshed and instability in the region.

This is the complete opposite of what you and your administration want because you are known as one who supports and strives to a true peace, one that will bring stability to the region and not one that just leads to bloodshed.

A true genuine peace and stability in the region will be attained only by remaining firm by what was determined in the Bible. Any formula based on relinquishing land to the Palestinians have just blown up in our faces and have proven to be a waste of time and money, it is merely an exercise in futility.

Therefore, Mr. President, we of the Rabbinical Congress for Peace comprised of 1200 Rabbis in Israel and abroad urge you to employ your tremendous influence during your present trip to the Holy Land that all of Israel remain under Israeli control. This, and only this,  will bring the Divine Promise in Leviticus 26:6 “I will provide peace in the land.”
