Laura Loomer Wins GOP Primary To Challenge Rep. Lois Frankel

A far-right social media provocateur whose hate speech got her banned from social media won her Republican primary on Tuesday and will challenge Democratic Rep. Lois Frankel for Congress in November.

Laura Loomer also won praise from President Donald Trump early Wednesday, who tweeted that she has a “great chance.” Trump’s new official residence, his Mar-a-Lago resort, is in the district.

Despite the president’s confidence, Loomer, 27, will be a heavy underdog.

Frankel, 72, has been a political fixture for decades in the Palm Beach County district, which is so firmly Democratic that Republicans have only run a candidate in one of the four previous elections since its current boundaries were drawn in 2012. Frankel beat that challenger in 2016 by 27 points.

Loomer received 43% in a six-candidate Republican field, garnering 14,500 votes. Combined, the Republican candidates totaled 34,000 votes. Frankel, running against a political newcomer, received 75,000 votes, or 86% in the Democratic primary, which had 87,000 votes cast.

According to federal records, Loomer raised $1.1 million for her primary campaign, a hefty sum for an underdog challenger. She currently has about $200,000 left over. Frankel has raised about $866,000 for this campaign, but with money left over from previous elections, her campaign has more than $1 million available.

At Loomer’s victory party Tuesday night, according to the Palm Beach Post, she was feted by political provocateur Roger Stone, whose prison sentence for lying to Congress was recently commuted by Trump; right-wing writer and speaker Milo Yiannopoulos, who got fired by the website Breitbart in 2017 after he praised same-sex pedophilia; and Gavin McInnes, the founder of the Proud Boys, a male-only group that describes itself as “Western Chauvinist” but has been deemed a white nationalist organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

“Lois Frankel doesn’t know it yet, but she is going to get Laura Loomered,” Stone told the crowd, calling Loomer the “Joan of Arc of the conservative movement.”

Yiannopoulos told the crowd that Loomer is an “extraordinary woman” who has gone from “hell-raising activist” to “a true political phenomenon.”

Neither campaign immediately responded to requests for interviews.

Loomer has been a guest on Fox News and alt-right programs after gaining followers by ambushing journalists and politicians in stunts posted online. Her campaign advisor is Karen Giorno, a political strategist who worked for Gov. Rick Scott and Trump’s 2016 campaign in Florida.

After trying to hoax journalists with Project Veritas, Loomer moved to direct confrontations with public figures in recent years, disrupting interviews and news conferences.

At a 2018 campaign event for Florida Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum at a Broward County synagogue covered by an Associated Press reporter, the synagogue’s staff asked Loomer and a male companion to leave because they had disrupted previous Gillum events. When they refused, the staff had police escort them out. She yelled loudly, comparing her treatment to Nazis throwing Jews out of synagogues. It got her on TV news and the internet video went viral.

Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Medium, PayPal, Venmo, GoFundMe, Uber and Lyft have banned her, but her messages get out through tweets by supporters and other workarounds, the Palm Beach Post reported. Donors have contributed millions to her campaign.

Another slimy job from Fake News AP. Joseph Goebbels (ys) would be proud of his students at AP.

  2. Gotta agree with the comments above. I hope she wins bigly. Hate speech is super-cool, so long as it isn’t directed at Jews. And white-nationalism is fine so long as most American Jews can huddle under the white umbrella. This has always been the problem with anti-semitism: excellent idea, but targeted at the wrong people. We can count on her to ramp it up!

  3. To MoisheInGezuntheit: So are you saying that Loomer was not banned from social media? That she did not win her primary? I know nothing about her. Why don’t you tell us clearly.

  4. huju, i understand you have brain capacity of Joe Biden, but please read text in my comment i was referring to from AP opening statement..

  5. To huju: I doubt MoisheInGolus denies the plain facts that Loomer was banned or that she won her primary. He probably also agrees that Lois Frankel is her opposition and that the election will be in November (although it is quite possible that he is holding out hope that the coming election will be delayed or permanently cancelled). I think he is contesting the label “far right,” because this particular politician apparently is OK with women in political office. “Far right” is more of a value judgement, and believe it or not there are places yet for Stone, McInnes, Yiannopoulos, and Loomer to go.MoisheInGolus will perhaps lead the way!

  6. To MoisheIG: I don’t understand your second comment either. But I think the AP should not have called her a heavy underdog, even if she looks slightly overweight.

  7. sounds like another lovely, knowledgeable, candidate. and she’s endorsed by gayists–will definitely join Moshedeepingolus in rooting for her.

  8. huju, because of your brainwashed head you are incapable of distinguishing between propaganda and news reporting. When a “news” article declares at the opening paragraph about a subject: “A far-right social media provocateur whose hate speech got her banned from social media” it is not a reporting, it is an opinionated slimy propaganda hit piece worthy of Pravda or Der Stürmer. Unfortunately brainwashed Marxists like you can not see it.

  9. That “social media” banned her is a badge of pride, not an indication that there’s something wrong with her. Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube now barely even bother pretending that they are not arms of the Democrat Party and the left. And they use the infamous SPLC to decide what is a “hate group”. If they ban someone it means the person is effective and creates a chazaka that the person is good.

  10. If you want to allege that someone on the right is an antisemite it’s not enough to simply allege that they said antisemitic things, because the left ROUTINELY lie about that. Nor is it enough to say the SPLC said so, or Facebook & Twitter said so, for the same reason. You need to cite what they actually said, and most of the time it will be obvious that there’s nothing antisemitic about it.

Just to help in advance: Accusing the Rothschilds of manipulating governments to destroy the West is antisemitic, because they’re not doing that. Accusing Soros of the same thing is NOT antisemitic, because he IS doing that. Many of the people who make that accusation have no idea he’s Jewish. Oh, and no accusation against Tom Steyer can be antisemtic, unless you show that the person who made it imagines Steyer is Jewish.
