The NY post reports: The FDNY said last night it’s looking into a YouTube video that shows firefighters carrying boxes of food into Sheldon Silver’s campaign office on the Lower East Side yesterday.
The firefighters are from Tower Ladder 18, which serves Silver’s district, according to the New York Observer’s Web site, which first reported the incident.
“It’s under investigation,” said FDNY spokesman Frank Gribbon, adding one of the things the probers will look into is whether the Bravest were on duty at the time.
A source who asked not to be identified told The Post the firefighters were acting at the request of two union officials, one from the Uniformed Firefighters Association, the other from the Uniformed Fire Officers Association.
Both officials were there at the time, according to the source.

Just a question – Who Cares? Why is a smear on a Jewish politician relevant enough for YWN to publish? Anyone know the definition of rechilus? (please don’t comment about the technical definitions of loshon horah, rechilus and the millions of halachos involved – I’m just trying to make a point).
Would appreciate if you don’t publish news like this. The people of the east side have a very good relationship with the police and fire department. You really don’t know what this is about and it looks like you are bad mouthing Sheldon Silver. (Otherwise YWN really does a very good job!)
It’s already public knowledge;the Post reported it and YW is only letting us know that they are aware of it and this is supposed to be publicized because he is OUR employee,our taxes pay his wages.
