Kennedy Collapses at Congressional Luncheon

kenn.jpgSen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., who is battling a brain tumor, was taken away from the congressional luncheon in convulsions.

Media outlets report that Kennedy was taken out of the Statuary Hall luncheon after suffering an apparent seizure – just a few minutes after Sen. Robert Byrd was removed in his wheelchair under the supervision of medical personnel.

Byrd was conscious and had been having trouble eating, according to a witness.

Kennedy, who underwent brain cancer surgery last year, was taken to the Rayburn room. Paramedics were called at 2:35PM EST.

President Barack Obama reportedly went out of the room with him, but reentered shortly after.

  1. Imma: that being said, its quite ironic that in this picture he has a hat on, considering that his brother JFK, was the first President to be sworn in without headwear, signifying the reign of pritzus that symbolized JFK’s time in office.

  2. the reason people think that he didnt wear a hat was because when he was sworn in and gave his address he was hatless. so this time, everyone is right 🙂

  3. Maybe Senator Kennedy wore a hat, because he is balding from the Chemo and radiation treatments, and did not want to draw attention to himself.
