Arab Nations Turn to EU to Pressure Israel Regarding Nukes

nuclear2.gifTaking advantage of its recent improved image since the election of US President Barak Obama, Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa is working to pressure the EU to pressure Jerusalem to open its arsenal and reveal the secrets of its nuclear capabilities once and for all. Moussa sent a letter to Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, calling for EU support to back an Arab nation bid to compel Israel to open her arsenal to international inspection. Sweden presently holds the rotating EU chair.

Moussa plans to submit his bill to the General Assembly of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The Arab League timing comes during a period when Israel is under increased scrutiny in the international community following Operation Cast Lead, and with the shift in power in the White House, with American now extending an outstretched hand to Syria, Egypt, the PA and even Iran. Israel’s status, while officially unchanged, has indeed been placed on ice, presenting an ideal opportunity to push the already less-than-pro-Israel EU to pressure Israel to reveal the secrets of its nuclear arsenal.

  1. Or else they will double what they already charge for a barrel of oil if the E.U. doesn’t help the Arabs destroy Israel. R”L!!!!

  2. Israel doesn’t need nukes; it needs to have the Arabs think that it has nukes.
Their purpose is to prevent an Arab attempt at destroying Israel, not to destroy others.
It is therefore to ISrael’s advantage to keep the issue as mysterious as possible. Any movement to reveal whether they really have them is self defeating.
It’s also much cheaper to keep the world thinking thathey have them, as opposed to actually having them.
Israel PR people are horrible. They must emphasize that may (or may not) have nukes, but it would be self defeating to let anyone know for sure. This is what the Israeli response should be.
