PHOTOS: Rav Pinchos Lipschutz & Yated Endorse Bloomberg For Mayor

blp.jpgToday, Yated Ne’eman endorsed Mayor Bloomberg’s bid for re-election. Established in 1987, Yated Ne’eman has become a major source of information for the orthodox Jewish community and (according to the Bloomberg campaign has a circulation of over 100,000).

Yated Ne’eman called the Mayor, “…a true public servant who has proven, time and again, that he puts the best interests of the voters, as he understands them, above partisan political and ideological agendas or personal advantage.” They went on to say, “We believe that the economic challenges ahead, and Bloomberg’s proven record of honesty, independence and accomplishment justify retaining him as the city’s mayor for a third term.”

  1. What about the morality issue? Is it now irrelevant?

Do we now ignore the clear issurim issued by so many Gedolim about endorsing candidates, like Bloomberg, who advance the Toeva agenda?

thompson is no differant then bloomberg concerning this matter.

  3. to yosse (no. 6):

Are you saying that, if we have two sodomites to choose from, we MUST vote for one of them?

How about protesting the lack of choice by voting for the Conservative Party candidate, Stephen Christopher, who is emphatically opposed to the Toeva agenda?

  4. To: Anonymous (no.8):

No. It wasn’t just Rav Miller, ZT”L, although he was one of the first to call for a ban on Sodomite candidates.

The Hisachdus Harabbanim, led by the Satmar Rov, Rav Moshe Teitelbaum, ZT”L, issued a scathing Issur, as did the Skulener Rebbe, ZT”L, and the Debrecener Rov, Rav Moshe Stern, ZT”L.

mabey i was not clear in stating my point . you just mentioned bloomberg by name and not thompson and all i’m saying on this point there is no differance between the two of them.

  6. dear anonymous (no. 10:

Here in the Jewish community, we don’t count noses in formulating Halacha. We look toward our Gedolim–that’s why they’re called Gedolim.

The Igud Horabbonim, The Agudas Horabbonim, and the Hisachdus Horaabonim are not fringe groups. They are the groups who we depend on for Kashrus and Halacha.

Rabbi Levin is an activist whoicises many of their decisions. He is not a Posek himself. To bring up his name in this concept is irrelevant–a “Red Herring.”

  7. Dear Mr. Bloomberg… You are running around to NY-kers begging for there votes, while that less then one year ago you ROBED them there 1993 & 1996 vote for term limits.
Have you no shame? Have you no decency?
You never were able to balance the budget without raising taxes.
You claimed “You are the ONLY ONE that can take us out from the current crisis” ? why are we still one of the last cities with recovery from the recession after more then a year that you said “you are the ONLY ONE that can take us out from the current crisis”
Have you no shame? Have you no decency?
You raised drinking WATER rates 98%
Have you no shame? Have you no decency?
(if water rates continue that way we will be better off to shower & bath with bottled water.)
You caused houses to increase in cost, so many NY-kers can’t afford to buy a house.
I am not a smoker but what right did you have to increase a pack of cigarettes to $10.00 while most smokers are low income ?
Have you no shame? Have you no decency?
By changing the Limits and the Terms you acted like one of the 3rd world leaders
Huges Chavez Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and many more dictators that their courts approved there stay in office and they too claimed that they are doing it for the benefit of the people.
Have you no shame? Have you no decency?
