On Sunday Lag B’Omer, Yeshivas Ruach Chaim held a dual celebration at the yeshiva building on Avenue Z.
First was a Hachnosas Sefer Torah procession that started at on Ave Y & E 27 Street and ended at the Yeshiva. The Sefer Torah was donated in part Lezecher Nishmas of Reb Yehuda Grunwald, a grandparent of children in the yeshiva and will be used weekday mornings at the shachris minyan in the Yeshiva’s Beis Medrash by the boys of the Yeshiva. The Hachnosas Sefer Torah procession included leibidig music, torches and flags, and the talmidim of the Yeshiva marched and danced with others from the community in honor of kovod hatorah.
At noon, the Yeshiva and its hanhala led a beautiful celebration in honor of the yahrtzeit of R’ Shimon Bar Yochai and Lag B’Omer. There was a Huge Fire, live music and singing including two hours of the renowned singer Srully Williger. The talmidim of the Yeshiva and their fathers and grandfathers joined with the Rosh Yeshiva, Menahel, and Rebbeim of the Yeshiva singing in harmony the traditional Lag B’Omer nigunim.
Yeshivas Ruach Chaim is led by its Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Simcha Hakohen Klor, shlita, and its Menahel Rabbi Yeedle Berkowitz shlita.
