Indian Jewish Girls School Gets an Unwelcome Visitor

monkey.jpgA monkey went on the rampage at a girls’ school on Wednesday morning. It snatched food from students and held them by their shirts. Finally, police had to be called in. The monkey invaded Jewish Girls’ School on Royd Street during the break. The girls, who were either playing or having their snack panicked, resulting in a near stampede, said an officer of Park Street police station. The monkey ran up to them and snatched their snacks. When one girl tried to resist, it slapped her. It also held on to the shirt of another girl, who tried to flee.

Park Street police was informed and rushed to the school. It was finally trapped with a bait of bananas and taken to the police station.

Later, the forest department’s rescue squad took it to the Salt Lake wildlife rescue hub. “The monkey is doing well. It became aggressive as it was out of its group,” said V K Yadav, deputy chief wildlife warden.

  1. I believe in some countries monkeys are as common as squirrels are in New York. Can you tell us what city in India?

  2. Should i ask the typical YW question… ‘Is that the actual monkey’… NO ITS NOT THE MONKEY. And if this story isn’t random, then i don’t know what is.

  3. This article must have come from India, considering its interesting grammar. I would like to know, for example, why girls were having their lunches panicked? (The girls, who were either playing or having their snack panicked…) How does one panic a lunch? I generally pack a lunch, and I might panic if I forget to pack a lunch, but I have never willingly had my lunch panicked.

Furthermore, I was amzed when I read that “It snatched food from students and held them by their shirts.” Why would girls be keeping food in shirts? And why would a monkey hold food by its shirt? I would expect a monkey to go directly for the food, and not monkey around with the food’s wrapping, whether it be a shirt or pants, or in this case, a skirt.

Editors Note: The Monkey held the girls by their shirts.

  4. Thanks Remember Why…until reading your post I was more than convinced that that was the real monkey complete with glasses since even monkeys can be short- sighted…

  5. According to nature, animals are supposed to be afraid of humans, but, the animals of a generation resemble the people of that generation. The lower humanity sinks, the more animalistic they become, when they resemble animals, animals lose their natural fear. (I am not saying that those Jewish girls are like animals, but our generation in general has sunk so low)Maybe that is why the moneys attacked those girls.

  6. Dear YW Editor,

I was kidding around. I understood that the monkey grabbed and held the girls by their shirts. I was kidding.

I just figured, with a monkey around, what’s a little kid?

    😉

  7. A friend of mine was in India 20 years ago for business. He told me that when he was in the subway the monkeys were laughing and throwing stones at him. Interesting country. True Story.

  8. Dear noitallmr,
Its lucidly apparent from the text of your post that you have not seen a question posted on YW by the 92 people on the bus story. NO THATS NOT THE BUS THAT WENT ON THE HIGHWAY FROM TEL AVIV TO JERUSALEM…but still, people ask ‘WAS THAT THE BUS’? Get a grip with reality, people. And for you – noitallmr – get a grip with the people in reality.

  9. Dear Remember Why,

regarding the bus, it was a very normal question to pose whether that was the actual bus since it is possible…but over here it’s so obvious that this wasn’t the monkey, why bother posting your not-needed comments???
