BLOODBATH CONTINUES: Two NYPD Officers Wounded In Shooting, At Least 2 Civilians Shot Dead [UPDATED 11:48PM EST]

[UPDATES IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

A fatal shooting in Brooklyn Monday night has left a New York City police officer in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Two people are confirmed dead after gunfire exploded on Park Place in Crown Heights.  CBS 2′s Derricke Dennis reported that one suspected shooter is in the hospital and another shooter is also believed to be involved.

While details remained sketchy late Monday night, witnesses said the street was littered with bullet casings.  There is no word yet on what exactly led to the deadly violence.

The wounded officer was in uniform at the time of the shooting and was taken to Brookdale Hospital.

UPDATE 11:35PM EST: Sources tell YWN that there are dozens of shell casings on the street. We are also being told that as many as three civilians are dead. Additionally, we are receiving reports that a second officer may have been shot, although that has not yet been confirmed. The officer(s) are reportedly from the NYPD’s 90th Precinct (which covers Williamsburg), but were working on a detail near the parade route.

UPDATE 11:48PM EST: Highly credible sources tell YWN that a second officer was in fact shot.

  1. Endless violence by those with a total disregard for authority, law and order and the simple rules of decent behavior. I lived on Park Place for the first 14 years of my life. It wasn’t a picnic then in the 1950’s but nowhere near this level of insanity. We didn’t settle our disputes with guns.

  2. Something is very fishy about this story 1) the only one who has said anything about shootings in N.Y as i can see is YWN i have looked all over and found nothing on other news sites 2)all we are told is 42 people were shot not one word of any victims their names race affiliation etc.. nothing, its like a phantom story just 42 people shot and that it! not even the condition of the victims shot, something doesn’t add up. To me it just sounds like a made up story Bloomberg is trying to put out there to further his gun control rhetoric

  3. Sorry YWN, but I think I’m gonna have to go with eric55 on this one. As the saying goes, a “picture speaks 1000 words”. All I see right now is 1000 words with nothing to support them. Please post pictures.
