NYC: Obama To Meet ‘Jewish Leaders’ At Fundraiser In Restaurant Daniel

President Barack Obama will meet film directors, bankers and media moguls as he strives to fill the coffers of his re-election effort on a vital fundraising tour.

Obama will be attending a reception with Jewish Leaders at four-star restaurant Daniel on the Upper East Side for a discussion with leaders in the Jewish community organized by Dr. Daniel E. Fass and Alexandra Stanton, among others.

Tickets cost $25,000 for an Obama-greet and photos or $5,000 for a regular ticket.

Also at Daniel, scheduled for the same time, is a small cocktail reception with the president at $15,000 per ticket, including candid photos. Invitees can become hosts if they sell five tickets for $75,000.

A source told us, “Daniel has hosted so many fund-raisers for Obama, it has become New York’s official Democratic dining room.” The White House didn’t comment last night.

  1. Whose monkey edited this article – YWN’s, or the New York Post’s? The first sentence says President Obama will meet with “film directors, bankers and media moguls”, and the next sentence says the president will meet with “Jewish Leaders”, implying (perhaps unintentionally) that “film directors, bankers and media moguls” are “Jewish Leaders”. Maybe the editor of this article is the same monkey that wrote the anti-Semitic screeds that Ron Paul published. Of course, with YWN and the New York Post, it is possible that the editor of the article is not anti-Semitic, but simply a … monkey.

  2. No need to get angry, just read carefully. The first line states who is attending while the other line states the Jewish leaders will be present as well.

  3. Agree with nfgo3: poorly written.
Obama will first have a meeting with Jewish supporters and, later, a dinner reception hosted film director Spike Lee.

  4. I don’t know who defines the people attending as Jewish Leaders…I would call them Jewish Liberals. They are entitled to their opinions, but support of President Obama for relection can’t be on the agenda of most realistic American Jews…myself included.

Stopping being lazy and read 1)the byline which has it in quotes and 2)the article that doesn’t mention “film directors, bankers and media moguls” that have anything to do with Jewish leaders but rather Spike Lee and his wife and hosting something and then it mentions another event by “Jewish leaders” -who are leaders only defined by the New York Post

  6. To No. 6: Apparently the answer to my question – who edited this article – is YWN’s monkey. After reading your gibberish, I linked to the NY Post article identified by YWN as the source of this article, and it would appear that YWN wrote this article based upon the NY Post article, which named one of the movie directors, Spike Lee, who as far as I know is not a “Jewish leader”. Your comment implies that Mr. Lee was named in the YWN article, which is not the case.

And speaking of lazy, why not take some time to learn that “byline” and “headline” are not synonyms, and that the use of quotation marks in the manner used in the headline of this article implies, crudely and inartfully, that the persons to be met are not truly “Jewish leaders.” The article then names two persons who are to meet with President Obama, without explaining why they are either genuine or faux “Jewish leaders”.

  7. No. 2: I am not sure why you object to the photo accompanying this article, but I object because it implies that the Daniel Restaurant, apparently a fancy-schmancy Upper East Side eatery, serves its cuisine in paper cups with lids, and the customers eat with their hands. That is unfair to the restaurant. It is also unfair to the person in the picture, as it implies that he does not know how to eat in a fancy-schmancy Upper East Side eatery. Perhaps that is your objection.
