MK Maklev (Yahadut HaTorah) Cited for Excellence


MK (Yahadut HaTorah) Uri Maklev has been cited for excellence, one of a few select members of Knesset singled out for his work. The award is given by the Israel Democracy Institute, citing a number of parliamentarians for their excellence. The committee making the selection is headed by retired Supreme Court Justice Theodore Ohr.

MK Dov Khenin (Hadash) and Maklev are recognized as outstanding MKs and MK Zevulun Orlev (HaBayit HaYehudi) who chairs the Knesset’s Child Welfare Committee is cited for excellence as an outstanding committee chair. They will receive the award at the institute, in the presence of Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin.

Since beginning this current term in Knesset, Maklev presented 119 bills, of which 10 were accepted and passed into law and 47 have passed an initial preliminary vote, still pending. He logs in with an average of 32.5 hours weekly in Knesset, placing him in second place among the 120 members of Knesset.
