At least one person is dead and others injured, some seriously due to inhaling toxic fumes, the result of an explosion at an Ein Yahav area drilling site.

It appears that an explosion occurred involving hydrogen chloride. Environmental Ministry hazardous materials experts are assuring the public that the situation is under control and there is no fear of toxic contamination in the area.

The road, Highway 90 has been closed in the area. Helicopters are being used to evacuate the injured. The cause of the powerful explosion is not known at this time.
