Due To MK Eichler’s Efforts, Ramat Elchanan Bridge To Open Sooner Than Expected

MK Yisrael Eichler has been working diligently as in recent months, residents of Bnei Brak and Givat Shmuel are compelled to take a long detour to cross the Geha Highway safely. The bridge that was once the direct route was destroyed in an accident involving a truck.

In other cases, civilians were seen crossing the busy road, placing themselves in life-threatening danger. These testimonies were raised by the residents who turned to the Knesset Ombudsman for assistance, MK Yisrael Eichler.

The Chairman of the Committee, MK Eichler, convened the session with the opening of the Knesset session. At the start of the discussion, Eichler emphasized that the Public Inquiries Committee acted regularly during the Knesset recess to stand by the citizens and to handle their requests throughout the year.

Eichler demanded that the bridge be opened between Givat Shmuel and Bnei Brak and that the procedures for maintenance and safety of the bridges in Israel be renewed.

During the course of the discussion, the committee was informed by the representatives of Netivei Israel and the police that the work process will be accelerated and will be completed by next month, in contrast to the original plan according to which the work will be completed only next year.

In response to the Committee’s request, a representative from the Ministry of the Interior stated that the police had already begun preparations for closing the lanes on the night of the construction of the bridge to permit the expedited work.
