Light Rail Sukkas for Passenger Convenience

Citypass, the operator of the Jerusalem light rail expects trains to be packed during chol hamoed as the service is viewed as a tourist attraction for visitors to the city as well as a primary means of transportation to the Old City. Tens of thousands of mispallalim will use the light rail to travel to the Old City for Birkas Kohanim and to visit the Kosel during chol hamoed.

As a service to the passengers, Citypass announces it has built sukkas in a joint project with Jerusalem City Hall at a number of major train stops to permit riders to avail themselves of the convenient sukka along the train route.

  1. It may very well be a מצוה הבאה בעבירה, with all the pritzus that’s on that train, Hashem yishmor.

  2. It would have been even nicer if the trains ran on a schedule and we would not need the succas. IT said the train was coming in 3 minutes and I waited at least 25…..
