A New Era In The IAF – Fifth Generation Fighter Jets

Today, the “Adir” F-35 aircraft have completed the period of absorption and training for operational use in the air force.

The entry of the “Adir” aircraft for operational use sums up a long and significant absorption process that began with the landing of the first planes in December 2016 and the opening of the “Golden Eagle” squadron. The process of absorbing the “Adir” was carried out by designated training teams who had received nine aircraft over the past year.

The Israeli Air Force is the first force in the world, outside the United States, to operate the “Adir” aircraft. This is another expression of the cooperation and the special strategic relationship between Israel and the United States.

The absorption of the “Adir” aircraft is an additional layer in the efforts to build and construct the force, and adapting the IDF to the challenges of the future, as reflected in the training of IDF soldiers.

In a letter sent by Air Force Commander Major-General Amikam Norkin to the Air Force, he wrote: “The declaration of the operational capability of the squadron takes place at a time when the Air Force is operating extensively on a number of fronts, in a changing Middle East. The operational challenge that becomes complex every day – receives a high-quality, professional air response. The mighty operation adds a significant dimension to the corps’ ability at present. ”

The aircraft’s capabilities enhance the IDF’s operational and strategic capabilities and improve its preparedness in a wide range of scenarios and threats in the various arenas.
