Was IAF Attack Against Weapons Convoy in Syria Too Late?

According to a report appearing in the Saudi al-Wattan newspaper, a transfer of chemical weapons from Syria to Hizbullah took place back in February and March 2012, over a 40 day period. That shipment included two tons of mustard gas and rockets capable of carrying the chemical weapons 300km (180 miles).

Contradicting the many media reports this week that Israel targeted a weapons convoy heading to Lebanon, the Washington Post quoted an unnamed American official saying the Israeli attack in Syria earlier this week was not in any way connected to fears of Syrian chemical weapons being transferred to Hizbullah.

  1. So therefore the attack wasn’t “too late”. They weren’t trying to stop that alleged transfer of weapons. They actually hit and destroyed a chemical weapons production facility near Jamraya Syria.
