Speaking with Israel Radio on Thursday 27 Shevat 5773, Hamas leader Khalid Meshal confirmed reports that he and Fatah are engaged in negotiations towards forming a coalition government.

Meshal added �We believe in democracy� and stated whatever the results of elections in PA (Palestinian Authority) areas will be, Hamas will accept them as he expects the international community to do, adding �Not like the case following the elections in 2006�. He refers to the fact that Hamas overthrew Fatah in Gaza and the international community today does not maintain relations with the Hamas government.
