According to a TGI survey pertaining to weekend newspaper readership, BaSheva, Makor Rishon and Maariv continue to decline. Both Maariv and Makor Rishon are owned by Shlomo Ben-Tzvi.
Regarding the weekday edition, Maariv lost significant exposure in the last six months; 40% and the weekend edition dropped 8.1%. In the last six months of 2012, the newspapers exposure dropped 30% and 5.8% respectively.
The weekly right-wing Makor Rishon dropped 3.8% in the first half of 2012 and 3.3% in the second half of that year. In the first half of 2013, the newspaper dropped 2.5%.
The weekly right-wing BaSheva, affiliated with the Arutz-7 family dropped 5.3% in the second half of 2012 and 4.5% in the first half of 2013.
Maariv seems to believe its main issue is the result of distribution difficulties with the newspaper.
