Travel Warning for Israelis Ahead of Tishrei Yomim Tovim


elalAs tens of thousands of Israelis make travel plans for the Tishrei Yomim Tovim, Israel’s counter-terrorism bureau reiterated a travel alert for Arab nations including Sinai and all of Egypt, Amman and all of Jordan, Morocco,Turkey and Tunisia due to the worrisome increase in hostility and attempts to hit Israeli targets in those countries.

While Israelis are not prohibited from traveling to those countries, they are strongly advised to avoid doing so, especially Sinai, due to the escalation of fighting in that area.

The experts in Israel add that while there is still a travel alert to avoid going to turkey unless absolutely necessary, Israelis are traveling for leisure despite the hostile atmosphere that exists towards Israelis in that country.

In response to the killing of Egyptian policemen in Sinai on Monday, 12 Elul 5773, Egypt has shut the Rafiach Crossing connecting to Gaza.
