The mashgiach of Yeshivas Knesses Chizkiyahu HaGaon HaRav Dov Yaffa Shlita visited with a family of a talmid who is among those imprisoned in IDF Prison 6 for not reporting for military service. The rav arrived at the family home on Tuesday night the eve of 8 Teves 5774 to give a chizuk to the parents.

The rav inquired as to the conditions of the talmidim and if their spiritual needs are being addressed. He asked the parents if they and other family members are permitted to visit with the talmidim.

Prior to departing the mashgiach shared a story with the family. He explained that he once met with Rabbi Moshe Soloveitchik ZTVK”L and he inquired into his status. Rav Yaffa explained Rav Soloveitchik explained he is more concerned with the status of Am Yisrael, which is ill, and this is the situation today he continued. “We must be mispallel today and I am pained there is so much machlokes and gezeiros and there is much to daven for” Rav Yaffa explained.

Rav Jaffa concluded by praising the fortitude of the talmidim and gave a bracha that the parents should merit seeing much nachas from them.
