Israel’s official Emergency Medical Service, Magen David Adom, was inundated with calls during the recent blizzard. Officials report that during last weekend the EMS received over 10,000 calls for assistance and paid employees and volunteers worked around-the-clock to respond.
At one point in the storm IDF armored personnel carriers were enlisted to transported EMS crews to calls when it became clear streets were too packed with snow.
