Mayor de Blasio on Christie’s GWB Scandal: ‘Troubling, Unacceptable and Immoral’

NYC mayor de Blasio chimed into the national conversation about NJ Governor Chris Christie’s involvement in the Fort Lee scandal.

“It’s really troubling. What happened was absolutely inappropriate,” mayor de Blasio told reporters at a press conference in the Bronx, after touring a school ahead of his announcement on after-School programs. “This was a big problem and this is not how we are supposed to treat the people we represent. A lot of New Yorkers got caught up in those traffic jams. Our people were treated wrong by those bureaucrats. I hope this is the last you will see of anything like that.”

Mr. de Blasio said he was happy with Gov. Christie’s reaction at the press conference today, but that these ‘immoral’ acts should not happen again.

“I was pleased to hear some of the changes Governor Christie talked about today,” the mayor said. “I’m glad that Governor came clean and said he would take resolute action. But it obviously raises some bigger questions on how something like that ever happened, to begin with. It’s unacceptable and it’s not tolerable for anyone on government to play with the people’s needs.”

“It’s not professional, it’s not mature and it’s actually immoral,” he added.

  1. I don’t think anyone can disagree with DiBlasio’s statements on the Ft. Lee scandal. What was done by the Governor’s underlings was without question wrong and inappropriate. Who can condone punishing a community for a Mayors action or lack of action?

Clintons immoral acts and the Mayors failure to make a photo op shiva visit have nothing to do with the NJ incident.

  2. This fraud aught to keep his mouth shut. When a scandal breaks out during HIS administration, as it does with every administration, we’ll play back his exact words to him!

  3. Mr Blasio Immoral Chief,

Is Killing four Americans in Benghazi and then knowingly lying about it Moral???
Let me see you call your pal Clinton Immoral?? You’d be toast if you did! Let’s remember that all it was is a Republican Governor in a Democratic state and the media is having a field day. Let’s blow our nose and move on.
