Christie’s Team Hires More Lawyers in Bridge Probe

chrNew Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s re-election organization has hired a Washington law firm to represent it in the investigation into a political payback scandal.

Election lawyer Mark Sheridan said Thursday he and colleague Bob Luskin of the firm Patton Boggs will be involved in the case. Sheridan is general counsel for the Republican State Committee.

Christie previously hired a separate legal team to help the administration deal with the scandal inquiry.

Christie for Governor Inc. is among those subpoenaed in the legislative investigation into allegations Christie’s aides engineered lane closings near the George Washington Bridge to send a message to a mayor for not endorsing Christie.

Christie cut ties with former campaign manager Bill Stepien after emails showed his involvement.

NJ.com was first to report the campaign hired a legal team.
