MK Moshe Gafne attacked askan Dov Halbertal, who during a Galei Yisrael Radio interview told the audience “an important avreich” who was with him this past Shabbos warned that a member of the chareidi community is going to kill Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid.

Halbertal explained this is not an assassination attempt or plot that he or the avreich are aware of, simply the way his guest read the political map. He feels that due to the volatile atmosphere surrounding the effort to draft chareidim, a member of the chareidi tzibur is likely to try to kill Finance Minister Yair Lapid, who leads the battle to draft chareidim into the IDF.

Radio host Ariel Segal was no less shocked to hear the words from the prominent chareidi attorney and educator, telling Halbertal “you dropped a bombshell. A Shin Bet car may be waiting for you outside”.

Gafne stated his remarks do not reflect reality for a frum Jew who has Yiras Shomayim does not murder anyone, any such discussion is forbidden and harmful, not to mention a major Chilul Hashem for slandering an entire population on the radio.
