Israel’s View of Getting Tough on Imprisoned Terrorists

jail3It may be difficult for some to digest, but according to Channel 2 News’ Moshe Nussbaum, following are the “minimum” services that will given to Hamas terrorists imprisoned in Israel as Israel decides to strip them of their privileges. While some officials feel the suggested list is a mockery, calling for harsher action, other fear if too many privileges are removed it could have a backlash in the prison system.

At present, terrorists are entitled to family visitation once every two weeks. This will be changed to one visit every two months.

At present, Hamas terrorists receive 10 television channels. Under the new regulations they will only receive three stations, Israel Channels 1 and 2 and one Arabic language station. They will no longer receive sports channels.

At present, the PA (Palestinian Authority) pays 1,200 NIS monthly per prisoner to make canteen purchases. This will be limited to 400 NIS monthly.
