The family of Dror Chanin HY”D, the first fatality in Operation Protective Edge, was targeted by Arabs hurling rocks on Highway 446 near Modi’in Illit on Sunday, 18 Tishrei. It is reported the vehicle was “bombarded” with stones.

Rochel Chanin was driving the vehicle that was attacked. Her oldest daughter Shaked who was seated in the front passenger seat was injured by the rocks, B”H only lightly.

Dror lived with his family in Beit Aryeh. He was killed in a mortar shell attacks as he distributed packages to soldiers stationed along the Gaza border.
