A fire in Beit Shemesh has tragically left a 10-year-old child R”L dead, and the rest of a family hospitalized, YWN has learned.
The fire started around 12:17AM (Wednesday morning), in an apartment on Rechov Moreh Yaakov. The fire department along with MDA and United Hatzolah rescue personnel rushed to the scene. Tragically, a 10-year-old child was pulled out of the fire not breathing. She was R”L pronounced dead on the scene.
The fire also left the father, 45-years-old, in critical condition. Also hospitalized was the mother (45) and two other children in stable condition.
They are reportedly Breslov Chassidim.
According to an initial investigation, it appears the fire was started by an unattended Menorah.
Mayor Moshe Abutbul was on the scene minutes after word of the tragedy spread.

Actually, it was reported as a fire from a coil heater- not a menorah.
But yes, it is terrible and may Hashem protect all of the children in Klal Yisroel!
Something very wrong in writing an “unattended menorah” there is a tone indifference and mockery in these words. I am sure the menora was attended. I am sure these pple wuld never ave asked for a tragedy like this. We beieve in god. And watever precautions we will take; will not be enough if god wills it otherwise.
It was just confirmed that the fire was caused by a heater. Since israei homes are from cold stone and r very cold. Many homes have these heaters; sometimes hanging on the walls of the bathroom in the direction of the bath so the ids stay warm. The heater went up in flames. What a tragedy!!!!
