Police are in the second week of the visible investigation involving senior elected officials and civil servants. To date 30 suspects have been arrested and while some have been released to house arrest following questioning, others are to be arraigned again as police will ask the court to keep them behind bars for the time being.
There is a rumor that former Yisrael Beitenu Minister of Tourism Stav Misezhnikov has agreed to turn state witness as police are still working to turn at least one other suspect towards assisting in the case. However, senior investigators of the Lahav 433 Unit are quoting telling the media even if efforts to get a state witness are unsuccessful, they are on solid ground and have sufficient evidence to move ahead with many indictments nonetheless.
Police are signaling that they expect to make additional arrests in the coming days and weeks.
