Retired IDF major-general, Yoav Galant, who is number two on the Kulanu party list, announced that Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon was aware of the Gaza smuggling tunnels prior to Operation Protective Edge but opted not to act.
In his appearance at a Shabbos cultural event in Rishon L’Tzion Galant told the audience “I am unwilling to live with a tie. With me, the next round in Gaza will be significantly shorter and qualitatively improved. Hamas is not the Red Army as you were led to believe. I do not except that we sit at the negotiating table with Egyptian and US mediators with Israel and Hamas as equals. I am unwilling to accept the Government of Israel permitting 30 tunnels to be constructed towards kindergartens” he concluded.

You will live with anything the American masters will dictate because you and all Israeli leaders do not have a choice. Never did – never will. Everyone in Israel knows EXACTLY how to deal with all the problems in the middle east until they put on that suit and tie. Everything changes real quick at that time. Names don’t matter, so long as Israel is dependent on other countries cash and weaponry etc etc.

But yet Galant criticized Netanyahu/Ya’alon for taking out a bunch of terrorists (a few weeks ago) in Syria so close to an election.
Seems galant is already preparing for his role as Shadow Defense minister
