No Police Action in Waqf Assault Against Jew on Har Habayis

hhaYidden visiting Har Habayis on Rosh Chodesh Adar 5775 were met with the regular insults and abuse from Muslims on the holy site. Unlike most visits, in which the assaults are limited to verbal insults, a Waqf official on rosh chodesh attacked and kicked and punched one of the visitors.

Members of the visiting group turned to police demanding they act against the assailant but this did not occur. Police stood by and did not arrest or detain the Waqf official.

It should be pointed out that Gedolei Yisrael throughout the ages have prohibited visiting Har Habayis, which is also the position of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

  1. Not throughout the ages, just the last few generations (unless we seek to consider the Ramba”m, Ramba”n et al. as not a Gadol Yisrael).

Those who go up have on who to rely and those who don’t have on who to rely and “elu velu…”, no need to slander them everytime you write about them.
