Emergency Medical Services were summoned to Ben-Gurion International Airport on Tuesday morning 2 Iyar after an El Al flight with 174 people on board had to turn around and make an emergency landing. Pilots reported detecting a problem with the plane’s landing gear.
A state of emergency was declared at Ben-Gurion after El Al flight 2521 to Prague that took off earlier announced it was heading back home due to a problem with one of the wheels. After 45 minutes in the air the decision was made to turn the plane around.
The notification to EMS and fire units went out about 20 minutes ahead of the expected landing. B’chasdei Hashem the plane landed in Ben-Gurion without incident.
