Moderate Earthquake Rattles Southern Mexico

qA moderate earthquake has shaken the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the Tuesday afternoon quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.5 and struck at a depth of about 70 miles.

Its epicenter was 6 miles east of the city of Palomares, and residents in the state capital reported feeling it.
