Incoming Housing Minister: I Will Work to Provide Housing for Soldiers


idfIncoming Housing Minister (Kulanu) Yoav Galant, a retired IDF major-general, announced in his new cabinet post, he plans to concern himself with housing availability for IDF soldiers.

A ceremony for the incoming minister was held in the Housing Ministry on Sunday morning 28 Iyar attended by outgoing Minister Uri Ariel as well. Ariel is shifting over to the Ministry of Agriculture.

In his short address during the ceremony Galant stated he plans to work to lower housing prices. “The challenges faced by this office are relevant to each and every Israeli” he stated, adding that together with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon they plan to work to face these issues.

“The first challenge is to make sure that each soldier serving in mandatory or reserve duty service has a home of his own to return to”. Galant explained the people who were sent to defend the country are his first priority.
